About the role
What will you be doing?
You will take ownership of developing a strong pipeline of new opportunities, identifying target organisations and engaging senior decision makers across your market.
You will be speaking with stakeholders across housing associations, developers, consultants, contractors, distributors, energy businesses and commercial property organisations.
The role will include:
Identifying and winning new business opportunities
Building relationships with senior commercial and technical stakeholders
Developing strategic partnerships and channel relationships
Running consultative sales conversations
Building and managing a healthy sales pipeline
Turning technical solutions into clear commercial value
Developing proposals and progressing opportunities through to close
Working alongside technical, product, marketing and operational teams
Representing the business at industry events and customer meetings
Feeding customer and market insight back into the wider business
This is a genuinely proactive sales role, with around 40% of your time expected to focus on prospecting and outbound business development and a further 30% spent in customer, partner and stakeholder meetings.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for somebody who enjoys developing business rather than waiting for opportunities to arrive.
You will ideally have 5+ years' experience within B2B business development, strategic sales, channel sales, specification sales or account management, alongside evidence that you can build pipeline and close commercially valuable opportunities.
Experience within one or more of the following would be particularly relevant:
Energy | Renewables | Cleantech | HVAC | Construction | Property | Housing | Building Services | Utilities | Connected Technology
You do not necessarily need to be a technical expert, but you should be comfortable selling solutions where there is a technical element and be able to communicate their commercial value clearly.
Knowledge around areas such as EPC, net zero, retrofit, heat pumps, solar PV, smart controls or building energy systems would be useful, although not essential.
Why consider it?
This is an opportunity to join a technology business operating in a market with significant long term growth potential.
Alongside a package of £60,000 to £76,000 OTE, the position offers a car allowance and a wider benefits package. It is home based, with regular UK travel required.
There is also genuine scope to progress into areas such as senior business development, strategic partnerships, key account management or commercial leadership as the business grows.
