About the role
Ready to take ownership of complex, cutting-edge systems? Keen to shape technology from early concept through to real-world delivery?
Our client is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to play a central role in the development of a next-generation advanced technology platform, bringing together complex hardware, software, optics, motion control, automation and precision engineering into robust, high-performance products.
The Opportunity
Take system-level ownership of sophisticated, high-precision products combining advanced optics, laser-based processes, motion systems, controls, software and machine vision. Work across the full product lifecycle, from concept and requirements through to validation, release and continuous improvement.
Why This Role is Great
- Lead system architecture from early concept through detailed design, prototyping, verification and release
- Define system requirements, performance targets and risk models across mechanical, electrical, optical and software elements
- Bring together complex subsystems into stable, high-performing, production-ready solutions
- Influence how advanced laser, photonics and precision instrumentation technologies are integrated into commercial products
- Work on challenging system trade-offs involving beam delivery, thermal behaviour, alignment, stability, automation and reliability
- Shape verification plans, test strategies and fault-finding approaches at system level
- Collaborate closely with software, engineering and technical teams
- Contribute to product maturity, manufacturability and long-term technical roadmap planning
