Senior Talent Scout

Take on the harder candidate-side work with more independence: specialist searches, fuller ownership of candidate relationships and sharper sourcing.

About the role

Senior Talent Scouts take on the harder candidate-side work with more independence. You'll lead sourcing on specialist technology and deep-tech searches, own more of the candidate relationship from first approach to offer, and help sharpen how the team finds people.

What you'll do

  • Lead candidate sourcing on specialist and harder-to-fill searches.
  • Own candidate relationships from first approach through to offer, working closely with the rest of the team.
  • Screen and present candidates with clear context on fit and motivation, sending strong people as soon as they're found.
  • Improve the team's sourcing approaches and tools, and share what works.
  • Keep candidate records and pipeline accurate in our CRM.

What good looks like

  • Strong shortlists on searches that are genuinely hard to fill.
  • Candidates who trust you and come back to you.
  • Sourcing ideas the rest of the team picks up and uses.

What you'll bring

  • Experience of candidate sourcing or recruitment.
  • The judgement to work independently and prioritise across several searches.
  • Clear communication and the persistence to see hard searches through.

Useful, not essential

  • Experience recruiting in technology or deep-tech markets.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter, CV databases and a recruitment CRM.

Where it leads

From Senior Talent Scout, the recruitment path leads on to Principal or Director level, as an individual contributor or into management.

Benefits

  • Holiday: 28 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 29 days in your fourth year and 30 in your fifth. The office closes between Christmas and New Year, and that time comes from annual leave.
  • Private medical: Bupa private medical cover for you, with the option to add family members. Dental and optical are available as an optional upgrade.
  • Life assurance: Life assurance (death-in-service) cover.
  • Pension: A workplace pension through standard auto-enrolment.
  • Travel and parking: Free parking at the Eynsham office, mileage paid for business travel, and travel to events paid.
  • Kit: A laptop is supplied.
  • Communities and events: You can attend any Humand community or event, and you'll meet the founders, engineers and hiring leaders who come to them.
  • Time together: Company socials, a Christmas party, ad-hoc team lunches, and team days, workshops and training days.

How we hire

  1. A first call. Around 30 minutes on the phone with the hiring manager or Joe Edney.
  2. Face-to-face interview. A conversation in person, including a small task or presentation so you can show how you think.
  3. Meet the team. Time with a good part of the team, so you know who you'd be working with.
  4. A final conversation. A follow-up with Joe Edney to answer your remaining questions and talk about next steps.

We can move quickly, but we'd rather give everyone who applies a fair look than hire the first person through the door.
