A Celebration of Code, Community, and Connection in Oxford:
On 15th August 2024, the vibrant Oxford software community gathered for a night to remember at the Humand Summer Software Party. Hosted by Humand Talent, the event united developers from Java Oxford, PHP Oxford, and Golang Oxford for a fantastic evening of networking, music, and celebration at the Oxford Retreat.
A Memorable Night for Oxford’s Software Engineers
With over 65 developers in attendance, this was our most successful event to date! The evening welcomed many new faces, allowing software engineers and tech enthusiasts to bond over their shared love of coding, technology, and software engineering. The atmosphere was electric, fuelled by not just great conversation, but also live music from CTO Samuel Edney of Ceta Software, who treated us to a DJ set that kept the energy flowing well into the night.
Of course, no party is complete without refreshments, and with a well-stocked bar, the drinks kept flowing as freely as the conversation. It was the perfect environment for professionals to let their hair down and exchange ideas outside of their usual workspaces.
More Than Just a Party
While the night was full of fun, the real purpose was to bring Oxford’s thriving developer community together. Humand Talent typically organises separate, bi-monthly meetups for the PHP Oxford, Java Oxford, and Golang Oxford groups. However, the summer months called for something different, and we decided to combine forces and create a shared experience. Judging by the response, it’s clear the community appreciated the opportunity to connect across disciplines, with many already eager for more cross-group events in the future.
Since the event, we’ve had the pleasure of helping three attendees land positions with their dream employers – a testament to the power of networking and community support. If you’re looking for your next big career move, make sure to stay involved with our future events!
